rainforests, coral reefs, ozone, global warming, endangered species, recycling,
and things you can do to protect the environment. The term "Saving
The Earth" is a misnomer.. The Earth will be just fine...It will
adapt...just without all the people...

Gene Roddenberry had a
vision of the future: one where there was a common purpose of growth and
understanding . People from all backgrounds, nations, faiths and races worked together as
equals. Technology was available to all as a tool to explore and grow.
Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future is the catalyst that has inspired
solcomhouse. Our "prime directive" should be to follow the
vision and foresight that Gene Roddenberry put forth as our potential
future. A future where poverty does not exist, one where technology is not
the great segregator but the great equalizer.

Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was
the most important voice of the American civil rights movement, which worked for
equal rights for all. He was famous for using nonviolent resistance to overcome
injustice, and he never got tired of trying to end segregation laws (laws that
prevented blacks from entering certain places, such as restaurants, hotels, and
public schools). He also did all he could to make people realize that "all
men are created equal."
Dr.
King’s concept of “somebodiness,” which symbolized the celebration of
human worth and the conquest of subjugation, gave black and poor people hope and
a sense of dignity. His philosophy of nonviolent direct action, and his
strategies for rational and non-destructive social change, galvanized the
conscience of this nation and reordered its priorities. His wisdom, his words,
his actions, his commitment, and his dream for a new way of life are intertwined
with the American experience.
The United States has

It
is incumbent upon The United States of America to take the leadership role
in protecting the Planet Earth and it's people.

What is a planetary
hero? It is someone who inspires you in some way. It could be your parents, a
friend or a "famous person" it could even be a fictional character. It is a person who inspires you to do
things to help others. The inspiration can come from their words or deeds. The
inspiration can come from words, a song a movie or actions.
